One of my earliest aviation memories was visiting a junkyard/ salvage yard on the Roosevelt Roads Naval Station in Puerto Rico where the US Navy had scrapped out some jets for drone/ target use. As a 4 year old, getting to sit in the seat of a Fighter plane’s cockpit section was magical. If I had a camera in those days, I surely would have spent hours capturing the quiet dignity of their time at rest. A recent class with the 3G Aviation Media instructors reinforced the beauty of capturing the details in resting aircraft. You can get great shots while your subjects are being mobbed by crowds at airshows, or in this case, by capturing them basking in the sunlight at their resting places.
